As women, we should learn more about common knowledge about pregnancy, because one day we will be able to use it. After the delay of menstruation, many female friends will use various methods to test whether they are pregnant. As a common sense, many people know that menstruation will stop after pregnancy, but some women may find that menstruation still occurs after pregnancy. So, will there still be menstruation when pregnant?
Being pregnant means there will definitely be no menstrual period. There is no menstrual cycle, which starts with the change of ovarian hormones in the endometrium. The menstrual cycle is calculated as 28 days, and ovulation occurs on the 14th day of menstruation. After the fertilized egg forms, it divides and proliferates into late stage blastocysts, which are implanted into the uterine cavity 7-8 days after ovulation to generate HCG. This stimulates the development of the ovarian corpus luteum into the pregnancy corpus luteum, which continues to secrete estrogen and progesterone. With the maintenance of estrogen and progesterone, the endometrium will not shed or bleed.
If there is still menstruation after pregnancy and accompanied by lower abdominal pain, the possibility of threatened miscarriage should be considered first. In addition, it may also be due to the low levels of progesterone in women's bodies during early pregnancy, incomplete formation of uterine decidua, and the release of mature eggs from the ovaries every month, resulting in periodic bleeding of the uterus. This is also the reason why menstruation occurs after pregnancy.
However, after three months of pregnancy, the placenta gradually forms and uterine bleeding stops. Therefore, even if menstruation continues after pregnancy, it will not exceed four months. If vaginal bleeding occurs, the possibility of threatened miscarriage should be ruled out first. It is recommended that if there is heavy bleeding accompanied by pain, it is best to immediately go to the hospital for examination and treatment to avoid irreversible damage.
