Will HCG still rise after it drops

When pregnant women go to the hospital for prenatal check ups, a common test is HCG examination, which can confirm pregnancy and also allow pregnant women to understand the physical condition of the fetus and themselves. During pregnancy, the HCG value of most women doubles every other day, which means that the baby is developing healthily and HCG will decrease at a certain period. Will HCG levels continue to rise even after decreasing?

Will HCG still rise after it drops1

If the HCG in the blood does not increase but decreases after pregnancy, the main reason is that the embryo stops developing. It is recommended that pregnant women go to the hospital for B-ultrasound examination to see if the size of the gestational sac is consistent with the duration of menopause. Most women who are already six weeks pregnant can detect fetal buds through ultrasound examination, and around seven weeks pregnant, ultrasound examination can detect fetal heartbeat. If no fetal heart or fetal bud is found at the corresponding gestational week, it is likely that the embryo has stopped developing and naturally HCG will not increase.

After implantation, the fertilized egg begins to secrete HCG, which shows a unilateral increase in the early stages of pregnancy. HCG reaches its peak at eight to ten weeks of pregnancy and then begins to decline. It remains at around one tenth of its peak value from 12 weeks of pregnancy until delivery. In early pregnancy, the HCG value generally does not decrease, and the probability of further increase after a decrease is very small. If HCG continues to decrease, it is recommended to terminate pregnancy in a timely manner, otherwise coagulation dysfunction may occur, causing massive bleeding.
