The uterus is a very important part for women and must be well protected. Because many women have abnormalities in their uterus, which can have a certain impact on their health, such as thick endometrium. So why is thick endometrium?
1. Obesity: Obesity is one of the causes of thick endometrium. If the body is too obese, the female adrenal gland will secrete a large amount of androstenedione, and aromatase in adipose tissue will convert it into estrone. The more adipose tissue there is, the stronger the transmission, and the higher the plasma estrogen level, which can cause sustained estrogenic effects and lead to endometrial thickening.
2. Simple hyperplasia of endometrium: After uterine lesions, there may be enlargement, significant thickening of the endometrium, and sometimes diffuse polypoid appearance. Under the microscope, the lesion appears diffuse, involving the functional and basal layers of the endometrium, as well as interstitial and glandular hyperplasia. No glandular congestion is observed. The glands vary in size and have a smooth appearance. The morphology of glandular epithelial cells is similar to that of normal proliferation in the late stage, without heterogeneity.
3. Hormonal imbalance: In addition, thickening of the endometrium in women may be caused by hormonal imbalances in the ovaries. Imbalance of endocrine hormone levels can easily lead to endometrial thickening, also known as endometrial hyperplasia, which is usually caused by long-term estrogen stimulation.
4. Pregnancy: If a woman of childbearing age discovers that her endometrium is too thick and she is also preparing for pregnancy, it is likely to be caused by pregnancy and early pregnancy monitoring should be carried out.
