Why is menstruation a good time for weight loss

Menstruation is a special period for women's bodies to detoxify, usually lasting 28 days per cycle. Although women during their menstrual period may experience unbearable pain, irritability, and excessive anger, many women say that their period is a good time for weight loss, and even if they endure the pain, they should take advantage of their period to lose weight. So, why is menstruation a good time for weight loss?

Why is menstruation a good time for weight loss1

  1. Eating during menstruation is not easy to gain weight. During the entire period of menstruation, the body's metabolic rate will accelerate, so women can eat more food than usual to supplement energy. This extra food is necessary for the normal body and is less likely to gain weight. But this does not mean that we can let go of eating. When the energy of the food we eat far exceeds the energy our body consumes, this energy will be converted into fat, leading to obesity.

  2. The effect of menstrual exercise is significant. Research has shown that women who exercise moderately during their menstrual period are much more likely to lose weight than those who exercise regularly. Simply put, moderate exercise during menstruation is more beneficial for weight loss than regular exercise. Women can use their menstrual period to engage in simple exercise to achieve weight loss.

Although menstruation is beneficial for weight loss to some extent, it is absolutely not advisable to achieve weight loss through dieting during menstruation, as this can easily cause harmful effects on the body such as weakened immunity and irregular menstruation.
