Many girls have experienced dysmenorrhea. Some girls may not have severe dysmenorrhea symptoms, which can be effectively relieved as long as they pay attention to rest. However, some girls have severe dysmenorrhea symptoms, which are particularly uncomfortable every time their menstrual period comes, and even require taking painkillers. So, where can massage relieve menstrual pain?
1. Rub and press the Taichong acupoint
Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that 'the pulse of Taichong is strong, and the lunar events occur at the current time'. Taichong is the most important acupoint on the liver meridian, which is also effective for women's menstrual disorders. Women with dysmenorrhea often have varying degrees of liver depression and qi stagnation, resulting in pain when blocked. Rubbing and pressing this acupoint has the effect of soothing the liver, promoting qi circulation, and relieving pain. You can use your left thumb to knead the right Taichong acupoint (located at the midpoint of the first metatarsal gap on the dorsum of the foot), preferably with a sour and swollen feeling. After 1 minute, switch to using your right thumb to knead the left Taichong acupoint for 1 minute.
2. Rub the uterine cavity
Stimulating the uterine acupoints is a direct conditioning technique targeting the female reproductive organs, which has the effects of promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, regulating qi, and relieving pain. The uterine cavity is located in the lower abdomen, 4 inches below the navel, and 3 inches near the midline. Press the uterine acupoints on both sides with both index and middle fingers, apply a little pressure, and slowly massage until they are sore and swollen. Operate for 5 minutes until there is a heat sensation in the abdominal cavity.
3. Massage the Blood Sea acupoint
Rubbing and pressing the Blood Sea acupoint has the function of inducing blood circulation and treating various diseases related to blood division. Pressing the Blood Sea acupoint can alleviate lower abdominal pain during menstruation. Sitting on a chair and stretching your legs straight, there will be a depression on the inner side of your knee. Above the depression, there is a raised muscle, and the top of the muscle is the Blood Sea acupoint. When two thumbs overlap and press this acupoint, during menstrual cramps, the left leg usually also hurts together, so stimulate the left leg more. If a warm water bag is placed on the waist, the effect will be better.
