When will the 3D prenatal examination be done

Three dimensional color Doppler ultrasound, in fact, collects data from an ultrasound container through an ultrasound volume probe for three-dimensional imaging, forming a three-dimensional image, which is the image at a certain point in time. Three dimensional color Doppler ultrasound during pregnancy usually refers to the systematic color Doppler ultrasound of the fetus. Pregnant women need to undergo multiple prenatal examinations throughout their entire pregnancy, and there are also targeted examinations at different stages of pregnancy. Among them, three-dimensional ultrasound is also a multiple examination item that women need to undergo during pregnancy. So, when will the 3D prenatal examination be done?

When will the 3D prenatal examination be done1

  1. Women need to undergo two three-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound examinations during pregnancy, which is a large-scale abnormal examination during pregnancy. One was around 16 to 20 weeks pregnant, and the other was around 28 weeks pregnant. For these two types of large-scale abnormal examinations, three-dimensional or four-dimensional color ultrasound can be chosen.

  2. Three dimensional color ultrasound can display in a three-dimensional and dynamic manner. Through examination, changes in the placenta, amniotic fluid, and umbilical cord can be understood, and the growth process of the fetus can be observed. It is an important means of diagnosing whether the fetus has developmental abnormalities.

  3. Three dimensional color Doppler ultrasound can provide three-dimensional imaging of local tissues and organs in the fetus. The main difference between this ultrasound examination and four-dimensional ultrasound is that three-dimensional ultrasound displays visual information, while four-dimensional ultrasound can record images and allow expectant mothers to see a series of fetal movements in the uterus.
