The glucose tolerance test is also an important prenatal examination that women need to do during pregnancy. Through this examination, it can determine whether the pregnant woman has high blood sugar or has pregnancy diabetes. However, women who are pregnant for the first time often do not know the timing of this examination. So, when do pregnant women develop glucose tolerance?
1. During pregnancy, women need to undergo a glucose tolerance test, also known as a glucose screening. The results of glucose tolerance test can be used to determine whether pregnant women have high blood sugar or diabetes during pregnancy. The best time to perform this examination should be between 24-28 weeks of pregnancy.
2. Pregnant women who are preparing to undergo sugar screening in the near future should relax, maintain a calm mind, and engage in normal activities and diet. Remember not to intentionally eat less food or have a light diet before the examination in order to pursue better test results. This can lead to inaccurate results in the Tang screening test, which cannot reflect the true physical health level of pregnant women.
3. The day before going to the hospital for examination, pregnant women need to fast for more than 8 hours, so do not eat after 10 pm. When going to the hospital for a glucose tolerance test, glucose solution should be taken immediately after the first blood draw, and three blood tests should be conducted strictly at regular intervals to ensure accurate and effective results of the prenatal glucose tolerance test.
