The health of pregnant women is very important during pregnancy, especially in the later stages of pregnancy. A slight negligence in daily life may lead to amniotic fluid rupture. When amniotic fluid ruptures, the sterile environment of the uterus is disrupted. Bacteria may ascend along the vagina to the uterus, leading to complications such as fetal infection and umbilical cord prolapse. So, what should be paid attention to when amniotic fluid breaks to protect the fetus?
1. Admission upon delivery: As long as there is a breakthrough in water, regardless of whether the pregnant woman has reached the expected delivery date or whether she has contractions or pain, she must immediately rush to the hospital for treatment, and pay attention to lying down and lifting her buttocks to avoid more amniotic fluid leakage and umbilical cord prolapse, which may pose a danger to the baby.
2. Immature fetuses can protect the fetus: if the amniotic fluid ruptures without regular uterine contractions and vaginal redness, it indicates premature rupture of the amniotic fluid. Therefore, if the amniotic fluid ruptures but there is no sensory pain, there are signs of early rupture of the amniotic fluid. If the pregnant woman is still far from the expected delivery date and the fetus is not yet mature, she urgently needs to protect the fetus. She should lie quietly in bed, lift her buttocks (with a pillow), use anti-inflammatory drugs, replenish amniotic fluid, continue the pregnancy under close monitoring by medical staff, and push the fetus into the delivery room when it is viable to give birth.
3. Caesarean section if necessary: Under normal circumstances, uterine contractions usually occur a few hours before amniotic fluid rupture, and delivery will take place within 24 hours after amniotic fluid rupture. If there is no recurrence after 3 days, the cesarean section surgery can only be performed.
4. Take catalytic measures: If amniotic fluid ruptures more than 24 hours before the expected delivery date. Pregnant women should start taking fertility measures, such as using fertility drugs or taking other measures, before they feel any pain.
5. If the pregnant woman has been deprived of water but no red color or uterine contractions are seen, and there are no other conditions for herself or the fetus, doctors usually recommend that the pregnant woman wait for 24 hours. If the pregnant woman still does not respond after 24 hours, she will be required to give birth and use medication to accelerate uterine contractions.
Amniotic fluid can be said to be the bridge connecting the fetus and the outside world. Excessive or insufficient amniotic fluid is detrimental to the development of infants. Generally speaking, the amniotic fluid breaks. Under normal circumstances, a baby is about to be born. This also reminds the mother to go to the hospital as soon as possible.
