What to do if the fetus is too small for NT

NT examination is usually performed around 12-13 weeks of pregnancy, which can be used to check whether the fetus is at risk of chromosomal abnormalities and also to evaluate the size of the fetus. Pregnant women are very concerned about the development of the fetus. Only when all aspects of development are within the normal range, pregnant women will feel at ease. However, after NT examination, some fetuses may develop smaller than expected, which inevitably worries pregnant women. So, what should be done if the fetus is smaller than expected during NT examination?

What to do if the fetus is too small for NT1

If the fetus is too small for NT, it is necessary to first verify the time of the last menstrual period. For some women with irregular menstruation, the ovulation time is not fixed, which leads to a later implantation of the fertilized egg. In this case, the fetus will be smaller during the examination. Therefore, for pregnant women, the due date should be postponed by two weeks accordingly. Pregnant women do not need to worry too much, as long as there are no abnormalities in other examinations.

If the size of the fetus differs from pregnancy by more than two weeks, it is considered to be due to poor fetal development, which is related to malnutrition in pregnant women. Especially in the early stages of pregnancy, many pregnant women may experience morning sickness, which can affect their appetite and lead to poor nutrient intake, resulting in smaller fetal development.

In order to ensure that the fetus can develop and grow well, pregnant women should pay attention to nutrient intake and maintain a balanced diet. If the morning sickness reaction is obvious, they can eat some soda crackers or dry bread to relieve it. When the appetite is slightly better, they should eat as much as possible according to their own preferences, which will increase their appetite.
