What should I do about breast nodules

Breast nodules are a collective term for small tumor like growths in the breast during gynecological ultrasound examinations. In fact, breast nodules are not a disease, but a precursor sign before the occurrence of breast diseases in women. Breast nodules are mostly benign, but they may also be signs of cancer. So what should I do if I have breast nodules?

What should I do about breast nodules1

  1. If a female friend discovers nodules in the breast, the first thing to do is to determine whether the nodule is benign or malignant. This requires comprehensive diagnosis through medical equipment from a professional hospital and self-examination by the patient. Normally, benign nodules are the most likely, so there is no need to worry too much. The nodules will self resolve and disappear within one or two years after formation, and may not even require treatment. But if it is found to be a malignant lesion, it must be treated as soon as possible.

  2. Normally, benign nodules do not require surgical removal, but for larger and fewer nodules that affect the smooth blood circulation of the breast, conventional surgery can be performed to remove them, with little impact on the breast.

  3. For patients with breast swelling and pain caused by breast cysts or multiple breast nodules, they can take some traditional Chinese medicine orally to promote blood circulation, disperse nodules, promote qi and phlegm, and nourish the kidneys and dampness for treatment. After a period of time, hardened nodules can shrink, dissolve, and disappear.

  4. Benign nodules also have a very small chance of malignant transformation, which requires patients to do self-examination work. A general judgment can be made by comprehensively observing whether the boundary of the nodule is clear, how hard it is, whether its position is fixed, and whether there is pain. If malignant transformation is found, immediate medical attention should be sought.
