What should be paid attention to in pregnancy induced hypertension1

Pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH), also known as gestational hypertension, is a disease unique to women during pregnancy, mainly including gestational hypertension, eclampsia, and other diseases. These diseases often occur in mid pregnancy and are more common in women with multiple pregnancies, anemia, and other conditions. If a woman has preeclampsia, it can affect fetal development and even cause postpartum hemorrhage.

So women who want to prevent and treat preeclampsia need to pay attention to healthy diet. Women need to control their calorie intake, that is, to control their weight gain. Especially overweight women before pregnancy, they should eat less or no Dim sum, sweet drinks, fried food and high-fat food after pregnancy, or they will increase the risk of pregnancy induced hypertension. Secondly, women should ensure sufficient protein intake.

Because the protein in poultry and fish can regulate or lower women's blood pressure, some soy foods can protect their cardiovascular health. So women should eat more fish and soy based foods during pregnancy. However, women with abnormal kidney function need to control their protein intake to avoid increasing the burden on their kidneys, which is not conducive to their physical health. At the same time, women should control their intake of foods containing saturated fatty acids, generally not exceeding 60 grams per day.
