What is the normal body temperature for pregnant women

During pregnancy, women are very concerned about their own health issues. For example, sometimes they may feel worried if their basal body temperature is slightly high, as the mother's health often affects the good development of the fetus. So, what is the normal body temperature for pregnant women?

What is the normal body temperature for pregnant women1

  1. The normal body temperature of pregnant women is not significantly different from their pre pregnancy body temperature, and some pregnant women may have a body temperature slightly higher than the normal range of 0.3 to 0.5 ℃. But in general, measuring body temperature should be between 36 ℃ and 37 ℃. Normally, a temperature not exceeding 37.3 ℃ is considered normal for pregnant women.

  2. Some pregnant women may experience a slight increase in body temperature due to individual differences, increased blood volume during pregnancy, and changes in hormone secretion. Their basal body temperature may even reach 37.5 ℃. If there are no other discomfort symptoms, it can also be considered as normal body temperature. But if there are multiple adverse symptoms such as headache and fatigue, it should be considered as a symptom of low-grade fever.

  3. In addition, pregnant women have different body weight and metabolism, which is also an important reason for changes in basal body temperature. For example, pregnant women who are slightly thin may have a lower basal body temperature measured, while pregnant women who are more obese may have a slightly higher body temperature measured. But as long as it is below 37.3 ℃, it is basically a normal body temperature during pregnancy.
