What is secondary infertility

In real life, some couples encounter an awkward situation when they want to have their own children, which is that no matter how hard they try, there is no sign of fertility, that is, infertility. So is this a condition of secondary infertility? What is secondary infertility?

What is secondary infertility1

Simply put, secondary infertility refers to a situation where a woman has a history of pregnancy, but within one year, both partners have normal sexual activity and have not taken any contraceptive measures, while the woman is not pregnant. This phenomenon is medically referred to as secondary infertility.

The causes of secondary infertility are related to both men and women, but generally speaking, female factors account for 50%, male factors account for 40%, and the remaining 10% are comprehensive factors. Under the influence of these factors, secondary infertility has occurred.

If it is a female factor, it is generally related to uterine factors. Uterine factors may be endometriosis, as well as inflammation caused by endometrial polyps, endometritis, etc., leading to infertility.

Male factors may be caused by common infections in the male reproductive system, such as orchitis, prostatitis, urethritis, etc. Some men may also experience infertility due to abnormal ejaculation, such as premature ejaculation or lack of ejaculation, resulting in low sperm quality and vitality.
