What causes miscarriage

Abortion is something that all women do not want to happen. Many women know that there are many reasons for abortion, and the specific cause of abortion needs to be determined after examination. Most women want to understand the relevant matters and avoid them to reduce the probability of abortion. So what causes miscarriage?

What causes miscarriage1

  1. Chromosomal abnormalities. Chromosomal abnormalities include abnormalities in the number of chromosomes, such as monosomy, trisomy, and polyploidy; Structural abnormalities such as fractures, deletions, and translocations can all lead to miscarriage.

  2. Endocrine disorders. Excessive estrogen and insufficient progesterone are also reasons for early miscarriage. Due to the period of placental formation replacing luteal function during 12-14 weeks of pregnancy, endocrine disorders are prone to occur. The lack of thyroxine hinders the oxidation process of cells, and hyperthyroidism and diabetes are prone to miscarriage.

  3. Diseases of the reproductive organs. Uterine malformations, such as bicornuate uterus and uterine septum, are often the cause of miscarriage. However, underdeveloped uterus is often the cause of infertility. In addition, uterine fibroids, especially submucosal fibroids that develop into the uterine cavity or ovarian cysts embedded in the bone cavity, can affect fetal development and lead to miscarriage.

  4. Blood type incompatibility. Due to previous pregnancies or blood transfusions, Rh factors and incompatible ABO blood type factors produced antibodies in the mother's body. This pregnancy entered the fetus from the placenta and caused hemolysis by agglutination with red blood cells, resulting in miscarriage.
