What are the safe and dangerous periods1

  1. In clinical practice, the safe period mainly refers to a time when the probability of pregnancy for women is very low, or when unexpected conception is unlikely. And the dangerous period mainly refers to the high probability of women conceiving during sexual intercourse during this time period, usually referring to the ovulation period.

  2. The safe period is usually seven days before the onset of menstruation and eight days after the end of menstruation. The dangerous period mainly refers to the 14 days before menstruation, which is ovulation day for women, while the first four days and five days after ovulation day are ovulation period, also known as the dangerous period.

  3. If women are preparing to conceive, it is generally recommended that they choose to have sex during the ovulation period, which is the critical period, and have sex every other day, which can help improve the pregnancy rate.

  4. If you do not plan to become pregnant and do not use contraception, it is recommended that women engage in sexual intercourse within an absolutely safe period, which is the first three days before menstruation and the third day after menstruation. During that time period, sexual intercourse is not necessary to use contraception.

If contraception is used during a dangerous period, external tools are generally needed as the chances of pregnancy during this period are greatly increased. Therefore, to ensure that sexual intercourse is not compromised, the best contraceptive method is still to wear condoms or take birth control pills.
