Signs of Pregnant Women Before Delivery

Pregnant women tend to feel anxious before giving birth, as most of them are giving birth for the first time. Many issues require extra attention, such as the due date, which is not an exact delivery date. Therefore, women should pay attention to some pre delivery symptoms before and after the due date. So, what are the signs of pregnant women before giving birth?

Signs of Pregnant Women Before Delivery1

Pregnant women may experience symptoms such as redness, uterine contractions, watery discharge, and increased vaginal discharge before giving birth.

  1. See red. Within 24-28 hours before delivery, the cervix begins to move, and the membranes near the cervix separate from the uterine wall at that location. The capillaries rupture and a small amount of blood is discharged through the vagina, which mixes with the mucus in the cervical canal and is discharged. This bloody mucus that flows out of the vagina is commonly known as visible red.

  2. Uterine contractions. When the due date for expectant mothers has arrived and there are irregular contractions, these symptoms should be detected in a timely manner. If you feel damp and uncomfortable near the underwear near the vaginal opening, you should immediately check if there is any bloody discharge on the underwear, and if so, go to the hospital immediately.

  3. Breaking water. As delivery approaches, uterine contractions intensify and the pressure inside the uterine cavity increases, causing the rupture of the amniotic sac and the outflow of clear, pale yellow amniotic fluid from the sac. Usually, after breaking the water, delivery is about to begin. At this time, the expectant mother should be immediately sent to the hospital in a supine position for delivery. Do not stand upright or sit up to avoid umbilical cord prolapse and serious consequences.

  4. Increased vaginal discharge. The thick secretion during pregnancy accumulates at the cervix, and due to its high viscosity, it usually acts like a plug, blocking the cervix. During labor, if the cervix swells, this plug will not work and secretions will flow out.
