  1. Physical examination mainly involves checking whether there are developmental abnormalities or lesions in the patient's entire body and reproductive organs. You can also check the patient's development, nutrition, and mental status, and most importantly, perform a reproductive organ examination.

  2. Semen routine examination is a necessary examination for male infertility. Mainly examine the color, quantity, liquefaction time, pH, sperm count, motility, survival rate, and morphology of semen under a microscope.

  3. Prostate fluid examination is performed by obtaining prostate fluid through doctor's massage. Normal prostate fluid is thin, colorless or light milky white liquid with protein luster, weakly acidic, and a pH value of around 6-7. But when inflammation occurs, the texture becomes thicker, the color turns yellow or appears light red turbid, or contains flocculent substances and sticky fibers.

What is the best time for infertility examination

  1. If a woman's prolactin is too high, it can interfere with the normal ovulation menstrual cycle. Prolactin levels rise physiologically in the evening, especially at night, so it is recommended to check in the morning for accuracy.

  2. Hysterosalpingography is the most common examination to evaluate the patency of women's fallopian tubes by injecting contrast agent into the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes. So never check during ovulation, as it can push the fertilized egg towards the end of the fallopian tube and the abdominal cavity, causing ectopic pregnancy; It is also not allowed to perform examinations during menstruation, as menstrual blood may block the fallopian tubes and cause misjudgment. Therefore, the best examination time is within three to seven days after the end of menstruation.

  3. Hysteroscopy should be performed within 3 to 7 days after menstruation, when the endometrium is thin, lesions in the uterine cavity are easily exposed, and bleeding is minimal.

  4. Hormone testing is usually done on the second and third day of menstruation, with blood drawn to check for hormones. This is because at this time, the hormones in a woman's body do not fluctuate too much, which can determine issues such as ovarian aging, chronic anovulation, and polycystic ovary syndrome.

Pregnancy is a big deal for everyone, so infertility testing is also something we cannot ignore. Once there is a problem in one aspect, the results may vary greatly. Therefore, before testing, we must understand what needs to be tested and be prepared in order to proceed smoothly. In this regard, the editor has given some suggestions, hoping that everyone can adopt them.
