Among various contraceptive methods currently available, condoms are the most commonly used because they have a 97% contraceptive effect, high safety, and are relatively affordable in terms of price. They can also prevent various infectious diseases. However, condoms are not 100% effective in contraception and may not be able to prevent pregnancy due to certain reasons. So, what are the reasons for the failure of condom contraception?
Reason 1: The condom model is not suitable. If the condom model used by men is not suitable for the size of the penis, there is a possibility of problems during sexual intercourse. For example, if the model is too large, it is easy to fall off and leave it in the female vagina. If the model is too small, it is easy to rupture during use. Both situations can cause semen to flow into the vagina, leading to contraceptive failure.
Reason 2: Air pressure burst. Before wearing a condom, men may not pay attention to squeezing out the air in a protruding small sac at the front end of the condom, which can increase the pressure inside the sac after ejaculation, causing the condom to rupture and semen to flow out, leading to pregnancy.
Reason 3: Unexpected rupture. During sexual intercourse, if both parties use a wide range of positions, or if the condom is accidentally scratched by hard objects such as nails or rings, it may cause the condom to break, or the condom itself may have a hole. Once the condom is not careful that it has already been broken, it is easy for semen to flow out and lead to pregnancy.
Reason 4: Wearing the condom too late. Some men have high requirements for sexual sensitivity, so in order to avoid affecting their feelings, they do not wear a condom at the beginning of the sexual process. They wait until they feel they are about to reach the excitement point before pulling out their penis to wear the condom. In fact, this approach cannot achieve contraceptive effect because a small amount of sperm has already flowed into the vagina with urethral mucus before ejaculation.
Reason 5: Failure to retrieve in a timely manner. After ejaculation, if the penis and condom are not pulled out of the female vagina as soon as possible before the penis softens, there will be a gap between the penis and condom once the penis softens, and semen can overflow and flow into the vagina.
