Women's menstruation comes every month, and the menstrual cycle is very regular. The menstrual cycle usually lasts around 28 days, but not every woman knows exactly how the menstrual cycle is calculated. Do you know how to calculate the menstrual cycle?
Menstrual cycle calculation method
The first step is to determine the accurate time when we start calculating the menstrual cycle
To calculate the menstrual cycle, we must first determine from which day it starts. There is an obvious misconception here, which is whether to start counting from the day when menstruation begins or from the day when menstruation ends.
The accurate algorithm should be calculated from the day when menstruation begins.
For example, if you start menstruating on February 6th and end on February 10th. So it should start counting from February 6th.
Step 2: Calculate the N1 portion of the menstrual cycle
N1 is the number of days that your menstrual cycle has passed in the month of your last menstrual cycle.
Still using the example above, your last menstrual period started on February 6th, and now we have checked the calendar and found that there were a total of 28 days in February 2014
So, we can calculate
N1=28-6=22 (days)
That is to say, your menstrual cycle lasted for 22 days in February 2014
Step three, calculate the N2 portion of the menstrual cycle
What is N2? It refers to the number of days that your menstrual cycle has passed in the month of your current period.
Still using the example above, your menstrual cycle started on March 4th this time
So, we can calculate
N2=4-1=3 (days)
Why subtract 1? Because March 4th will be counted towards your next menstrual cycle.
Step four, add N1 to N2, that is
N1+N2=22+3=25 (days)
This is the accurate value of the menstrual cycle we need to calculate. That is to say, in this example, your menstrual cycle started on February 6, 2014 and ended on March 4, 2014, with a duration of 25 days.
How many days is a normal menstrual cycle
The normal menstrual cycle is around 28-35 days, and anything within this range can be considered normal because everyone's menstrual cycle time is different, and everyone's monthly menstrual cycle is not fixed. Based on the above calculation, your menstrual cycle this time is 25 days, which cannot be considered very abnormal, but it still needs to be taken seriously.
