After female friends become pregnant, they need to undergo various examinations to ensure normal fetal development. However, pregnant women are not very familiar with many examinations, and sometimes they may worry that these examinations will affect fetal development. Anyway, pregnant women should actively undergo examinations. During the examination, pregnant women need to pay attention to the development of the placenta. So, is it normal for a pregnant woman to have a placenta at 25 weeks of pregnancy?

At 25 weeks of pregnancy, it is normal for the placenta to reach maturity level 1. Generally speaking, the degree of human placenta can be divided into four levels, and the maturity of the placenta can reflect its function and the developmental status of the fetus. When a pregnant woman enters mid pregnancy, the placenta has just developed and is classified as grade 0.
When entering the late stage of pregnancy, the maturity of the placenta in most pregnant women is between grade one and grade two. When the pregnant woman is about to give birth, the maturity of the placenta is between level two and three. If a pregnant woman's placental maturity is level 2 during labor, there is no need to continue worrying about the placenta. But if a pregnant woman discovers that the maturity of the placenta is level 3 before giving birth, it indicates that the placenta is beginning to age, which may harm the physical development of the fetus.
Due to the aging of the placenta, it is unable to maintain its normal function and may not be able to provide timely nutrition and oxygen to the fetus, leading to the risk of hypoxia and asphyxia. So if a pregnant woman shows no signs of giving birth but the placenta is severely aging, a cesarean section should be considered to ensure the health of the fetus. Of course, if a pregnant woman experiences placental aging during mid pregnancy, the pregnancy may need to be stopped.
