Is it effective to drain blocked fallopian tubes

Getting married and having children is a major event in life. Only by having one's own baby can women have a perfect life. However, many women suffer from blocked fallopian tubes, which hinders the process of having a baby. Many hospitals solve the problem of blocked fallopian tubes by providing water supply. So, is it useful to drain blocked fallopian tubes?

Firstly, many hospitals nowadays do not advocate for water supply because its diagnosis and treatment effects are not ideal. It has now been abolished by many large hospitals, and some primary medical institutions and private specialized hospitals may still use it. In the past, due to technological backwardness, simple equipment, convenient operation, and low cost, fallopian tube flushing has been widely used in clinical practice, commonly used for the examination and diagnosis of various infertility reasons. However, in the long-term use process, many drawbacks have been exposed, such as flushing cannot determine the location of fallopian tube lesions, nor can it clarify the severity and nature of lesions. It can only be used as an examination method and is not reliable. Only those with mild obstruction, such as fallopian tube damage, can be washed away by water flow. In addition, most fallopian tube blockage problems cannot be solved by flushing.

Secondly, in long-term clinical trials, tubal patency surgery can exacerbate infertility. Because the vagina itself contains a large number of bacteria, water can easily pass these bacteria through the originally sterile cervix, fallopian tubes, and pelvic cavity, causing various inflammations and further exacerbating blockages, increasing the possibility of infertility.

Finally, the current standard for diagnosing this condition is hysterosalpingography, which can accurately reflect the patient's condition, whether the development of the uterus and fallopian tubes is normal, whether the shape of the uterine cavity is normal, whether there are adhesions in the uterine cavity, and so on. These symptoms can be clearly seen on the film, and different treatment methods can be selected based on the imaging results.
