Is it easy to experience fetal arrest during IVF

Some pregnant women may stop pregnancy due to physical reasons, while others may stop pregnancy multiple times. If they still want to have children, then they need in vitro fertilization. If they go to the hospital for examination, the doctor will give advice on whether to try IVF. Generally speaking, even if pregnant women have physical problems, some in vitro fertilization can still be successful.

Is it easy to experience fetal arrest during IVF1

If the embryonic development in the abdomen is poor and ultrasound examination shows only empty sacs without embryonic tissue, or if there is embryonic tissue but no fetal heartbeat, it indicates that miscarriage has occurred and should be cleared. In this case, it can only be cleared completely through surgery. Some people say that the reason for fetal arrest is due to poor quality of sperm or eggs, but there is no such saying. So, what are the reasons for fetal cessation?

  1. Endocrine imbalance. Any communication barrier can lead to miscarriage. During early embryonic development, three important hormone levels are required: estrogen, progesterone, and human chorionic gonadotropin. As a mother, the lack of endogenous hormones cannot meet the needs of the embryo, which may lead to termination and miscarriage of the embryo.

  2. Abnormal uterus

  (1) Intrauterine adhesions are mainly caused by uterine infections, residual placental tissue after fibrosis, and uterine adhesions. It prevents normal placental implantation and decidualization.

  (2) Reducing the blood supply caused by endometriosis of the endometrium and fibroids can lead to local ischemia and venous dilation, while asynchronous decidualization, abnormal implantation, and hormonal changes caused by uterine fibroids can also result in pregnancy failure.

  (3) Congenital or traumatic cervical incompetence and cervical dysplasia caused by treatment with estradiol in the fetus often lead to mid-term pregnancy miscarriage.
