The pH test strip is a common testing tool used to determine whether the amniotic fluid and vaginal secretions of pregnant women are normal. According to the normal examination principle, amniotic fluid is an alkaline substance that will change color when encountering the test strip. Therefore, when using the test strip, it is only necessary to apply the liquid secreted by the vagina to the pH test strip, or directly insert the test strip into the female vagina. After the test strip is completely soaked, take it out and observe the color change of the test strip. If the color of the test strip is blue, it indicates that it is amniotic fluid. If it is not blue, it is normal vaginal secretion.

There is a significant difference between vaginal secretions and amniotic fluid in women, and the amount of fluid excreted by female friends can also determine whether it is amniotic fluid. If the amniotic fluid ruptures, the vagina will continuously release bodily fluids, which are relatively transparent in color and have a texture very similar to urine. Normal vaginal secretions are sticky substances, and the amount of fluid released is relatively small, presenting a intermittent state.

When female friends confirm that the fluid flowing out of the vagina is amniotic fluid, they should immediately go to the hospital for medical treatment. Because amniotic fluid rupture can pose a threat to the fetus in the abdomen, severe loss of amniotic fluid can cause the fetus to lack oxygen, and in severe cases, it can result in stillbirth. When the amount of amniotic fluid loss is relatively small, one should not be careless. If not handled in a timely manner, infection is likely to occur.
