How to calculate ovulation period accurately

Calculating the ovulation period can help women become more likely to conceive, as engaging in sexual activity during ovulation makes it easier to conceive. However, many women's menstrual cycles do not come on time, and engaging in sexual activity during the calculated ovulation period is also ineffective. So, how to calculate the ovulation period accurately?

  Calculated based on menstrual period

The algorithm for ovulation varies depending on the timing of menstruation. For those with regular menstrual periods, the next menstrual date can be directly predicted. Subtracting 14 days from the previous date is the ovulation day, and the period within 5 days before and after the ovulation day is the ovulation period.

For women with irregular menstruation, calculating ovulation period can be quite troublesome. At this point, the ovulation period can be calculated by subtracting 18 days from the shortest menstrual cycle. The last day of the ovulation period is the longest menstrual cycle minus 11 days, and the days between these two days are the ovulation period.

It should be noted that this method of calculating ovulation period is unscientific and difficult for people with menstrual disorders to adhere to.

  Measure basal body temperature

The physiological changes in women can affect their basal body temperature, with the lowest temperature on ovulation day and a gradual increase in temperature after ovulation. So, to accurately measure ovulation period, remember to measure body temperature every morning, preferably armpit temperature, for more than 5 minutes.

Not all methods of measuring ovulation period through body temperature are accurate, and if there are changes in emotions or lifestyle, irregular changes in body temperature may also occur.
