How long does ectopic pregnancy last for abdominal pain

Ectopic pregnancy is a phenomenon in which the fertilized egg implants and develops outside the uterine cavity after the sperm and egg meet and combine to form a fertilized egg. Ectopic pregnancy causes great damage to the female body and may even affect fertility, so it is very important to detect it in a timely manner. Common symptoms of ectopic pregnancy include vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain. Some women want to know how long it takes for abdominal pain to occur during ectopic pregnancy?

How long does ectopic pregnancy last for abdominal pain1

Ectopic pregnancy in women is mainly in the fallopian tubes, and the incidence of other parts is relatively small. When women experience ectopic pregnancy, there are no obvious symptoms at the beginning, and even some early pregnancy reactions similar to normal intrauterine pregnancy may occur, such as amenorrhea, nausea, vomiting, chest pain, etc. However, because the growth and development of the gestational sac is not in the uterine cavity, it is limited to a certain extent, so the early pregnancy reactions are relatively mild, which makes it difficult for women to know whether they are pregnant or not.

Women with ectopic pregnancy usually experience abdominal pain and irregular vaginal bleeding between 40 and 50 days of pregnancy. This is because during this period, the fertilized egg develops into a gestational sac, which affects the bed area and causes symptoms of abdominal pain and bleeding. When the ectopic gestational sac is still small and has not ruptured, women often feel hidden pain in one side of the abdomen. When the ectopic gestational sac develops too large and ruptures, they suddenly feel tearing pain in one side of the lower abdomen.

In order to detect ectopic pregnancy as early as possible and reduce the harm to women's body and fertility, women should go to the hospital for an early pregnancy B-ultrasound examination after 6 weeks of pregnancy. The B-ultrasound is used to observe whether there is a gestational sac in the female uterus. If there is a gestational sac, it is an intrauterine pregnancy. If there is no gestational sac and the levels of progesterone and hCG in the female body are also relatively low, it indicates an ectopic pregnancy and immediate surgery is needed to terminate the pregnancy.
