Medical abortion is suitable for women between 35 and 49 days of pregnancy. After women take medication, the medication promotes endometrial degeneration and necrosis, leading to shedding, damaging the uterine environment, softening the cervix, and stimulating the uterus to accelerate contractions and expel the embryo from the body. Generally, the embryo can be expelled after 6 hours of medication.

However, due to individual differences in physical constitution and drug tolerance among women, the specific time for embryo expulsion may vary slightly, but it should not exceed one week at the latest. If the embryo is still not expelled after one week, it is necessary to immediately go to the hospital for B-ultrasound examination and undergo curettage surgery to avoid intrauterine infection.

Women who are between 50 days and 12 weeks pregnant should undergo surgical abortion to terminate their pregnancy. There are two methods for surgical abortion: negative pressure aspiration and curettage. Depending on the actual pregnancy situation of the woman, the time required for abortion surgery may vary slightly. The surgery is relatively smooth and can be completed in about 10 to 15 minutes, while slower procedures can also be completed in about 30 minutes.
