Can NT thickening be absorbed1

When a pregnant mother is twelve weeks pregnant, she should go to the hospital for an NT examination, also known as Down syndrome screening. NT examination is used to analyze whether there are chromosomal abnormalities. The so-called NT examination is to observe the transparent band of the baby's neck through B-ultrasound examination. NT thickening means that there may be problems with the baby's development, and mothers need to pay attention to it.

If a pregnant mother goes to the hospital for examination and the doctor tells her that her NT has thickened, then she should not be nervous first and needs to cooperate with the doctor for timely examination. Sometimes, NT thickening does not necessarily mean that the baby is deformed. Some fetuses with NT thickening will slowly absorb it, but some fetuses will not absorb it, especially those with a greater degree of thickening.

Generally speaking, the normal NT value is less than 2.5. If the value is larger, it means that the baby is more likely to have chromosomal abnormalities and Down syndrome. NT thickening often indicates the presence of heart disease and other abnormal diseases in the fetus, and expectant mothers need to cooperate with doctors for timely examination. Pregnant women must undergo examinations according to the doctor's advice. Generally, examinations start at 8 weeks of pregnancy and are conducted once a month thereafter, while examinations are conducted every 2 weeks after late pregnancy.
