Can a molar be seen by ultrasound

Of course, women all hope to give birth to healthy babies, but sometimes due to various factors, there may be abnormal fetal development. Therefore, it is particularly important to undergo examinations in the early stages of pregnancy in order to timely understand the development of the fetus. Generally speaking, around 35 days of pregnancy, the size of the gestational sac can be seen through ultrasound to determine the general health status of the baby. However, can a molar pregnancy be seen through ultrasound?

A molar pregnancy can be seen by ultrasound. When a molar pregnancy appears, under ultrasound examination, the uterine cavity appears as coarse dots or snow like images, and there is no visible gestational sac, fetal structure, or signs of fetal heartbeat. Generally, only the murmurs of uterine blood flow can be heard, and the fetal heart cannot be heard.

Molar pregnancy usually occurs due to the proliferation of nourishing cells, so HCG can also undergo significant changes. The concentration of HCG in women's serum is often much higher than that in normal pregnancy, which can also serve as an auxiliary diagnosis for molar pregnancy.

When a woman is diagnosed with a molar pregnancy, timely measures should be taken to remove the molar pregnancy from the uterus, usually through surgery. However, before the surgery, routine physical examinations such as coagulation function are required. If the situation is good, the molar can be removed by suction.
