Human blood types are mainly divided into four types, namely type A blood, type AB blood, type B blood, and type O. In addition to these four types of blood, there is a relatively rare Rh blood type system. Which blood type a person has depends on their parents, so is the blood type inherited from their father or mother?

Half of the blood type is inherited from the father, and the other half is inherited from the mother. The inheritance of blood type cannot be separated from chromosomes, and there are a total of 23 pairs of chromosomes in human cells. One pair of chromosomes contains two single chromosomes, one from the mother and the other from the father. Therefore, our blood type is inherited from both parents, half from the father and half from the mother.
Because the inheritance of blood types is regular, as long as the blood types of both parents are known, the possible blood types that the fetus may have can be inferred. In medicine, there is a pattern table about the inheritance of blood types, and based on this pattern table, the possible blood types that the fetus may have can be calculated. People without knowledge of blood type genetics believe that if both parents have type A blood, then the child born will definitely have type A. However, this is not the case. According to the table of blood type inheritance rules, babies born to couples with type A blood may have type A or type O blood, with a ratio of 50% each.
